"Emmadotes"

Yesterday, Emma and I went to Hurricane Harbor as a last-minute-end-of-summer-fun day.  We went on Tornado, which requires a very large raft to be carried.  I had prayed that the Lord would allow Emma and me to ride with another mom and daughter so that we would not have to ride alone.  And also, so that I wouldn't have to carry that big huge thing by myself.  While failing to encourage Emma to hold one end, a mom came up and asked if she and her daughter could ride with us!  (Praise God!)  I found out she and her family were visiting from France.  I had a chance to chat with the mom, who spoke perfect English, about the schools and vacation schedules.  After the slide, I thanked the mom for riding with me and told her that she was an answer to prayer. While walking away from them both, I heard Emma say, "Au voire!"

I asked her, "How did you know to say that?"

She said, "From Barbara Manatee."  That's a silly song from Veggie Tales!  She's too funny.

One more - this morning, Emma was telling me about a cute little puppy she saw at the Castaic rescue center.  She was telling me that it was the cutest little, "2 month year old."  Heeheeeee!

Almost done

The countdown has begun.  Only 10 more weeks of classtime, then one online class and I am done with school!  Currently, I have 2 classes - a history class with Jeff, my brother-in-law, teaching and a Problems and Procedures class.  The P&P class involves a research paper.  I chose to do it on single parenting.  I am surprised at what I am finding.  84% of the single parents in the US are women - not so shocking.  95% of single parent families do not attend church - that shocked me.  What has saddened me was the amount of information that is out there for single parents has little to do with the Creator God or His Son Jesus Christ. Single parents are banning together on the internet and their time together is not being redeemed.

If you know of a single parent who desires to know how to honor God through this trial, please refer them to Robert Jones' Single Parents' booklet from CCEF (www.ccef.org).  You can also get the booklet from gbibooks.com.  It is brief, yet filled with the rich knowledge of knowing Jesus Christ, putting one's hope in Him, and allowing Him to redeem this time, along with very practical advice.

Until the Lord returns!
